Cigarette Side Effects A Reason For Worry? Kill The Urges with Stop Smoking Hypnosis CDs
Article by Alan Densky
How many inner discussions have you had with yourself about your smoking habit? How many times have you mentioned to family and friends that you want to quit but seem to stay caught in a smoking rut despite the health risks and the cost? And how many methods have you tried that just didn’t succeed? If you are like most smokers, you will remember such shattered hopes and may have felt nothing will really come through for you. Unless you tried hypnosis to stop smoking, you may have been on target.
If you fervently want to cease smoking, neurolinguistic therapy with hypnosis is the rational choice for true results. Smoking cessation hypnotherapy can zone in on the most significant reasons that keep you smoking as well as equipping you with resources and guidance to be successful for good. This is not stage entertainment that is good for laughs and tricks, but a reputable therapy approved by the AMA since 1958, and one with accreditation and a well-established ethics code.
Hypnosis doesn’t change your moral values and a reputable hypnotherapist will respect your privacy and rights like any other medical professional. You do need a practitioner who is certified by the National Guild of Hypnotists and who adheres to their stringent code of ethics and professional conduct. Included in their code is making the physical and mental well-being of their client their main consideration. They also defend clients from mental, physical or verbal abuse, and refer any client as needed.
A well trained hypnotherapist has the training to address problem behavior, and stop smoking hypnosis is the second most frequent type they practice. Using the most current methods which may include the precision of Neuro-Linguistic Programming (NLP) and the ongoing support of CD’s for stop smoking hypnosis as well as any medical measures a PCP might also prescribe for a patient. Using medical hypnotherapy does not mean other measures are excluded, but they may not even be needed at all.
The reason that professionally used hypnosis to quit smoking is the most effective method to attain success is that it addresses the three basic issues in smoking. No method can truly work that does not address each issue fully and correct the problems each causes. Most people believe that the physical addiction to nicotine is the most important element and the worst problem, but this is simply not the case. If the addiction to the substance called nicotine were the single reason for failure, most smokers would not fail so many times in their efforts to end smoking for good.
Yes, nicotine is a dramatically addictive substance and for most smokers the physical dependence is very real and there are withdrawal sensations that are also real. But did you realize these last only a short time? In fact, every bit of nicotine is metabolized out of the system in just 72 hours or less! For many smokers, it is the fear of withdrawal discomforts and not the reality that causes the most suffering and which may prevent even trying to quit at all. Yet quitting without therapy has an average 5% rate of success! Hypnosis to quit smoking reduces fear of withdrawal symptoms and greatly reduces the effect of any that do happen.
Another component of smoking is that it provides relaxation, just as sucking on a pacifier tranquilizes a baby. Many people treat anxiety and stress with some form of oral soothing like smoking cigarettes or eating. Hypnotic relaxation can substitute for the comfort factor derived from smoking cigarettes, which reduces the cravings and produces the benefits of quitting instead. The mind can be trained to substitute the same perceptions from other activities that are positive, not negative. Neuro-linguistic programming techniques can educate the brain to remove any connection between smoking cigarettes and comfort.
Finally, part of the smoking habit is plain old Pavlovian habit formation to stimuli. Smokers learn to connect smoking with certain activities, from the movie cliché of the cigarette after physical relations to feeling the need for a cigarette while drinking or watching television or chatting on the phone. Here stop smoking hypnotherapy can permanently eliminate the connection, and when the link is no longer there, there will be no trigger to light up when the coffee is poured or the cocktail is presented. The mind is trained to associate positive things with the former triggers, or to recall the advantages of quitting or the created by having the smoke.
A professional clinical practitioner will use both negative and positive associations to replace programmed associations with smoking, selecting those most powerful for an individual client. Stop smoking hypnosis is the only method that can fine tune the treatment to each of the three reasons for smoking and root them out. Everyone quitting requires support, but only smoking cessation programs using hypnotherapy effectively make you your own support team.

Electronic Cigarette Battery – Quit Smoking Hypnosis For Successful Relapse Prevention
You may have dreamed about how your life would be improved if you were able to quit smoking. But still, you puff away, moving farther and farther from your goal. It seems you have tried all avenues of smoking cessation, but there is one left: quit smoking hypnosis. Electronic Cigarette Battery
Some of the reasons you may continue to smoke are: fear of weight gain, fear of anxious feelings, and fear of failure. If you think about some of the reasons for quitting, they might be: saving money, health benefits, increased energy levels, pride of accomplishment, and higher self esteem. Most studies reveal a higher failure rate for individuals who try to stop smoking cold turkey.
Those who use other aids, including hypnosis, usually have a much greater chance of quitting and sustaining a non-smoker status.
Hypnosis is a safe, naturally occurring state of mind, such as when you arrive home and realize you have driven past the places on your route without even noticing them. Another example is when you are intently focused on a television program or a book, and you do not realize that someone is trying to get your attention. It is all about where your focus is, and the information to which your brain is attending at the time.
Smoking cessation with the assistance of hypnosis has been proven to increase quit rates. Adding components to provide information, relaxation, and support can reinforce the efforts of a person to break the negative habit or addiction.
There are several components to hypnosis for smoking cessation. The first is motivation and confidence building. Prior to bringing someone into a hypnotic state, it is desirable to examine and list the reasons a person wants to quit. Identifying the positive aspects of their projected life without cigarettes gives the therapist tools to motivate the person when the going gets rough. Electronic Cigarette Battery
Next, people have to examine the importance of cigarettes in their lives. Identifying the meaning attached to smoking is a factor in learning what life changes will be necessary for breaking their habit. After the emotional connection is realized, there has to be a period of reprogramming. Hypnotherapists use various ways to break and replace those attachments with more positive choices.
One method of hypnosis is to have the person relax, while imagining a situation in which they are smoke-free and living at an optimum level of health. The individual visualizes their body releasing the toxins currently present in the body. The imaging usually includes some mental picture in which the individual is in control and able to banish the negative forces. For example, the person may imagine that all of the bodily cravings are contained in a small balloon. The balloon is then slowly, gradually blown away, so that the person has a mental image of being separated from the cravings.
Once the person has successfully quit smoking, it is important to dispute the mindset that smoking is ever going to be necessary. The therapist points out that fact that the cigarettes are not relevant, because the person was able to perform all activities before beginning to smoke. This helps the person break the emotional attachment and fights against relapse.
Although it is possible for many people to quit smoking on their own, they are much likely to have long-term success with assistance such as quit smoking hypnosis. Electronic Cigarette Battery

Q&A: What’s a good way to quit smoking, other than just going cold turkey?
Question by : What’s a good way to quit smoking, other than just going cold turkey?
Been smoking on and off for past 4 years – nearly 5 – and I want to quit. I’ve done cold turkey before, but always started again a month or so later. Once went 7months without having any fags but I always seem to start again. At home I can’t do it, but when I’m at college all week I can get away with it and whenever I say I will quit, I will simply end up off to the smoking area with mates because I know loads of people who also smoke. And no, going around with different people isn’t the right answer – although if possible would probably work.
Does anyone know any tricks to stop? And nothing like hypnosis – too much money for that!
Thanks.

Any advice for smoking cessation for a guy who’s tried everything?
Question by Jeff: Any advice for smoking cessation for a guy who’s tried everything?
It looks like I’m going to have to try to quit smoking again. I’m 24 and I’ve smoked since I was 18. I smoke about 10-15 cigarettes a day and cigarettes have caused me to lie to my wife, who I love very much, about quitting — multiple times.
Every time I’ve intended to quit and every time I’ve failed in a matter of weeks. I’m not a very strong person. I don’t have a lot of willpower, and I can really only blame myself for this, I know. But that doesn’t make it any easier.
I’ve tried gum, patches and cold turkey. All I can think about when I’m not smoking is going to a store and buying a pack. I’m a nervous person and all my co-workers smoke, which makes it worse.
Things I’m not willing to try are “alternative” methods such as hypnosis and herbal treatments. I also don’t have time or money for therapy or support groups. More than likely, I’m going to try cold turkey again, so how can I make it stick this time?
Don’t ask how many times I’ve tried to quit, because I really don’t know. I’ve lost count.
I don’t really want to quit because I like to smoke, but I know I should. My wife wants me to and I’m tired of lying to her about quitting.
I just wanted to add something about consequences and motivation. The bad effects of smoking and the health risks don’t mean jack when you’re addicted to something.
My dad has cancer. My wife’s dad died of cancer. My grandma died of cancer. It doesn’t matter to me. I’m addicted to a substance and I’ll do anything and risk anything to feed the addiction.
My question is, how do I break the addiction?

OK…you know the statistics. First of all you have to WANT to quit. If you don’t, you’re wasting you time. I wish my hubby would quit, but he won’t/can’t until he’s ready. I can tell you you’re in a prime position to quit now before you really do damage to your body. Maybe you should visit a few cancer wards to get an idea of what you’ll be in for later on in life, or heart units. I tell you, Dude…try ANYTHING. That is one of the most addictive substances (nicotine) around. Put a rubber band on your wrist and when you want a cigarette, snap it. Substitute the habit (and it is a habit also) with something else non-destructive. Get yourself some flavored toothpicks and chew on those. And STOP BUYING THE DAMNED THINGS! If you don’t have them, you can’t smoke. Imagine they quit making cigarettes. Put your $ $ in a jar and have a huge party next year! You can do this if you really want to. Godloveya.

How to quit smoking.?
Question by : How to quit smoking.?
I’ve been smoking cigarettes forever. When I was in the single digits of age my friends and I would always steal them from our parents and sneak off to smoke because we thought we were cool. I always smoked socially or when stressed. I started smoking a pack a day when I was sixteen. I am currently nineteen. Between those ages I randomly swing back and forth between one and two packs a day. I have tried to slowly decrease how many I smoke a day until I had fully stopped. It never works. I find the nicotene gun disgusting, smoking is cheaper than buying the patches, and finding a hobby to help keep my mind off of cigarettes doesn’t work. It’s extra hard to quit because my parents, my grandparents, all my friends, and my girlfriend all smoke. I’ve tried countless times to quit. The longest I made it was four days. Every time I go a day or two something stressful always happens and causes me to smoke. I don’t have the money for hypnosis or anything like that to make me quit. I also have weak willpower which is important for quitting. Any suggestions or anything anybody has done that made it easier to quit?

Quitting smoking is tough. I started when I was 12 and smoked until age 31. I think I was hooked within a few days of starting. When I did finally manage to quit 19 years later I was smoking 2 &1/2 packs a day. For a long time I didn’t even try because I had been so discouraged from previous failed attempts to quit I was convinced I was hopelessly hooked. But now I know you should never give up.
You are right about the willpower being important. You have to really really want to quit. The patch or gum or other aids won’t work if you don’t have a strong desire to kick the habit. To be able to quit you are going to need the right mindset. Nicotine is more addictive than heroin or cocaine and therefore requires a great deal of determination in order to beat it.
First of all you should want to quit for yourself, not to please somebody else. Then you should know exactly why you want to quit. There are many good reasons to quit, for me the effects on my health and being a slave to the habit were high among them.
It is best if you come to really hate tobacco. Don’t look upon it wistfully and say “gee I miss that”, rather “I hate being its slave and will be so glad to be done with it”. Mindset is everything. Do not say you are “trying” to quit; you are quitting. When I thought like that I was finally successful.
Once you come to the proper mindset that you are in fact going to quit this disgusting unhealthy habit, things like gum or the patch can help to take the edge off. I used Nicoderm CQ patch for the full 10-week program. You will experience cravings, but if you see those cravings as your enemy and ignore them they won’t last long and will come less frequently over time. It gets better the longer you can tough it out, I promise.
Perhaps if you smash your cigarettes when you quit it will help you both by removing any immediate temptations, and letting you express some dislike of tobacco. And it will help to avoid second-hand smoke as much as possible too. Most people nowadays are aware of the dangers of second-hand smoke and are willing to go outside to smoke as a courtesy. Wouldn’t hurt to ask in your case.
Stay strong and focused on why you want to quit and how nice it will be to be free of the habit.

What’s the best method to stop smoking?
Question by mciomamci: What’s the best method to stop smoking?
I’ve smoked a little less than a pack a day for the past 10 yrs, and I’m ready to quit. I would like to know the best method other’s have tried and has worked for them. I’ve tried the patch, but have had doctors tell me that’s for those who are heavy smokers (ie 2+ packs a day) and are not geared to the pack-a-day smoker. Plus I found being on the patch made me nuerotic…couldn’t sleep, had bad dreams, etc. The doctors told me that was because my body wasn’t used to that much nicotine being pumped thru my system. I’m not a gum chewer, gum gives me a headache. I don’t like suckers and candy. Cold turkey is rough. I’ve thought about hypnosis, but don’t know how effective it is. Has anyone had success w/ any of these or other things?
