Has anyone ever tried hypnosis?
Question by Southerngirl29: Has anyone ever tried hypnosis?
I have thought about trying hypnosis to help improve my study habits. This semester I really been dragging and find it hard to concentrate on studying. It is my last semester, and I do not want my GPA to drop since I am planning on attending a master’s program next fall. Someone suggested hypnosis, and I wondered if it would really do any good or would it be a waste of money. Has anyone ever tried hypnosis? If so, did it work?
I have heard of people that went to hypnosis for smoking, and it worked but only for about a year. That would work for me. I won’t have to study forever
I also try to study at night, and I have always had a great memory and made good on test. However, this semester it seems my brain does not want to cooperate. I think it is rebelling! lol
$ 1500!!!! I didn’t realize it cost that much. And, I would probably be like you not be able to be hypnotized in a group. However, I have told my husband he would have to attend with me because I have this fear of them messing with my mine. Like that Dean Koontz book!

after trying everything else my firned tried it to quit smoking. it worked. you do have to go more than once though and its costly. i used to study at night before bed. i don’t know how i knew all that biology stuff but my mom said i talked about the parts of the hearts in my sleep. so i guess the knowledge was retained somehow. i mean i went over it in my mind when i was sleeping.
It cost my friend 200 dollars per session.

My 12 yr old daughter has struggled with anxiety for years now, but lately it seems to consume her – she has been in & out of therapy for years – they were trying to teach her behavior modification such as breathing exercizes & meditation to deal with her anxiety, but it just doesn’t seem to help – i would love to see her get thru a day without worry – has anyone tried meds & had success & if so, which meds?

Has anyone tried the hypnosis weight loss program Zen of Thin by Wendi??
Question by SmittyKitty: Has anyone tried the hypnosis weight loss program Zen of Thin by Wendi??
I am curious to know if anyone has tried anykind of Hypnosis weight loss program, and more specifically, the one by Wendi (from Wendi.com) Zen of Thin. I am very faccinated to know if this works since Wendi deals with the underlying issues of why we emotionally eat and subconciously sabatage ourselves and our goals, and helps to motivate us to eat better and exercise from another level of our brain, with not just thinking power, but acting power. I mean, it would be great if I could have the same force that drives me to the cookie jar even when I don’t want to, suddenly being re-directed to go to the fruit drawer in the fridge instead. It seems like my sweet addictions are subconcious, so why not the cure to them be subconcious as well?? Just a curious thought. Please let me know of all good and bad experiences with this topic (please no skeptical opinions, just experiences)… Thanks!!

Hi, I haven’t actually done the hypnosis thing, but I do know that many hypnotherapists (such as Dr. Carol Look) now use e f t– the energy therapy– as a primary modality in working with people who want to lose weight by dealing with underlying psychological issues. Has anyone had success with hypnosis on blood phobias?
Question by A.: Has anyone had success with hypnosis on blood phobias?
I have a fear of having blood drawn, I can handle shots, so it isn’t necessarily needles. I hate having my blood pressure taken, the pulsating drives me crazy. Having blood drawn, talking about blood, IVs or internal organs makes me faint, my hearing goes weird and my vision goes all black. I am curious about having hypnotism down before my husband and I start trying to have kids as I am afraid I will not be able to handle pregnancy and all the blood drawing that needs to be done. I am just a little scared about if it works or not and if it will just screw me up more.

There is no solid info for the benefits of hypnotism. It was invented by a guy named Joe Mesmer (Mesmerizing came from his name). He later admitted that he was a total fraud.
Now some people get great effects from hypnotism, like smoking cessation and diet. So you can try it to see if it helps.

You can find and download hypnosis audios on the internet for free. I’ve been listening to one at nighttime before bed and I believe that (along with proper diet and exercise) it has contributed to my losing 25 lbs in 8 weeks, by helping me stay motivated and have the willpower to do what I need to do.

Has anyone had any success with hypnotherapy for weight loss?
Question by Tracie Z: Has anyone had any success with hypnotherapy for weight loss?
I weigh 130 and want to weigh 120. Here’s the deal – my body LOVES being 130. I can’t seem to gain weight here and I eat whatever I want. BUT I look good and feel MUCH better at 120. (I am 5’5 and 38 years old. I know if I watch diet and add more exercise I will lose 10 lbs, so don’t really need that advice from anyone!) Also – how fast can one lose w/hypnosis?
Argh-I know. Thanks Bryan. I am just being lazy!!
