hypnosis, has anyone had it done and does it work – see DETAILS please before answering??

Question by Carolyn L: hypnosis, has anyone had it done and does it work – see DETAILS please before answering??
Hypnosis, as far as I am aware, is NOT where the hypnotherapist puts you in a trance and brainwashes or controls you. That’s all poppycock and movie-style hypnosis, therapeutic hypnosis works on dealing with subconscious issues. It’s very healing and there’s medical proof of it working, so that’s not the issue.
my question is this….. is the REAL type of hypnotherapy helpful to YOU, did YOU have a good experience?

has anyone done it to break addictions or for weight loss?

I am signed up for a 5 week hypnotherapy service and I want to hear other’s success stories/bad experiences.

I had five sessions prior to having major surgery. During the surgery, I listened to the tape of it as I was “going under.”

After the surgery, my surgeon, who didn’t think it would work, was amazed at how little I bled. My recovery time should have been at least a week, but I left the hospital in three days. When I say major surgery, I mean it took 65 staples to close the opening, so I’m not kidding.

That’s the only thing I’ve ever had it for, but my husband tried it to quit smoking. The only thing was, he was in a room with 150 other people. That’s not conducive to relaxation and it didn’t work for him. I believe if he’d had private sessions, as I did, it would have worked.

Side note: He finally did quit smoking through acupuncture. If the hypnotherapy doesn’t help you, maybe you can try the acupuncture.

Good luck!!!

Has anyone had success with acupuncture to quit smoking?

Question by Tiger Lily: Has anyone had success with acupuncture to quit smoking?
I have tried everything! The patch, chantix, nicotine gum, hypnosis. I wonder what the success rate is on acupuncture? I know it’s mostly all in my head but that’s the problem!!! Chantix was working pretty well. I tried it a month. Due to other problems I have mentally (depression..) I can not continue to take it. I’m praying about it but not happening. The more I think about it the more I want to smoke. Any ideas? Just don’t pick them up is the obvious, but…….The American Cancer Society said it’s as hard as getting off heroin. I’m so sorry for all the people I was rude to when I didn’t smoke! When I started at 38 yrs. old I had no intention of being 53 and still smoking!

Yes
Acupuncture on the ear point can help with quitting smoking.
There are points to help people quit smoking. Choose the ear point lung. And lung point is located inside of ear cavities. So there is lung 1 and lung 2. So in the middle of the ear cavity, that’s the heart point, and above heart point and below the heart point would be lung 1 and lung 2. Put needles here to strengthen the lung function so that when we try to quit smoking we won’t feel so dry and also you know, if the lung function is not optimize, people will have more phlegms. So that’s the two points, very important for quit smoking.

hi :) :)

I suffer from the same the same thing :D

At one point of my life it did the same to me.

I did some things to keep it at bay.

1) i sat down and talked to some one about it.
2) I focused on a point on what I wanted to do achieve
3) I changed the way I thought about things.
4) I fall asleep with Doctor who on on my ipod.

One of the best things to do is take one day at a time whilst getting better. Talk to people tell a few close friends what your going through don’t keep it all bottled up.

Don’t think about it far to much because it only happens what once every year at Max.

I’m sorry if this has not helped.

feel free to email me. :)

i hope u get over this.

I’m trying to curb my appetite… friend that tried the stop smoking one had a lot of success… I’m wondering if anyone has tried the weight loss one and had any success?

I’ve tried one for relaxation, smoking and weight loss… and to be honest, they didn’t work for me. But everyone is different. Some people are just more open to the powers of hypnosis than others. I think my subconscious is just as stubborn as I am! lol!

hynosis is a fraud….you cant be hypnotized if you do not want to be…..its not real…..you allow yourself to co-operate with the so called hypnotist….so save yourself some money and resolve to do it yourself.

Q&A: Does anyone know of any effective treatment for benign essential tremor?

Question by no man is and island except me: Does anyone know of any effective treatment for benign essential tremor?
I have BET (benign essential tremor) which is nothing life threatening but just a high frequency tremor throughout my body. In my case it mainly affects my hands and is very noticeable to other people. I would like to know if anyone has had any success with accupuncture, hypnotherapy, etc… There are no prescription medications which I am permitted to take and would love to get rid of the shakes.

Has anyone with Selective Eating Disorder successfully found treatment?

Question by Courtney: Has anyone with Selective Eating Disorder successfully found treatment?
I’ve had SED for as long as I can remember, and I’ve been trying to deal with it on my own. I’ve made a little bit of progress, but all of the psychological symptoms associated with food neophobia are still there. As far as I know, there is no known treatment. Some have reported success with hypnotherapy. Does anyone have any success stories or suggestions?

Best answer:

Answer by Mindsci
Hi Courtney

I’ve treated several people with SEDs.

I treated a chaplain who only ate meat and drank coffee with sugar. I treated a 19 year old girl who only ate fries, pasta and rice with tomato ketchup. And I treated a Maths teacher who couldn’t eat fruit, salads, nuts, vegetables or mushrooms. They each had their own reasons for their SED. They all have normal diets now.

Find a good hypnotherapist (one who doesn’t say ‘You can’t be made to do anyhting in hypnosis that you wouldn’t normally do”) and good luck.

Best wishes

Q&A: Anyone used Hypnotherapy to successfully treat a phobia?

Question by blumarina: Anyone used Hypnotherapy to successfully treat a phobia?
I was thinking of using Hypnotherapy to treat my phobia. Does anyone have any success stories about treating a phobia with hypnotherapy? Thank you!

Best answer:

Answer by amylynn2012
I have a therapist friend who does hypnotherapy and he often discusses the positive outcomes of the treatment… I was shocked that some of the things treated, namely chronic pain issues, that resulted in highly successful outcomes. I say go for it! Living with a phobia is not easy…there are several methods of treatment with hypnotherapy and flooding being only two of them. Meaning if one doesnt work, dont give up…Good luck and take care!

I haven’t personally, but I’ve heard that it works. You have to be willing to get hypnotized, first.

Q&A: has anyone out there heard of hypnosis for weight loss and had any success?

Question by Elaine: has anyone out there heard of hypnosis for weight loss and had any success?

Best answer:

Answer by Dave S
I did many years ago and it worked for me.

I actually went in for a different reason and asked the hypno-therapist to use weight loss as a test to see if what I was really there for would work.

He taught me a self-hypnosis technique, however, for it to keep working you need to keep practicing.
